THE TIMES, MARCH 11th 1955

The Associated Broadcasting Development Company and The Incorporated Television Programme Company have jointly formed the Associated Broadcasting Company [ATV] which will operate as a television programme contractor.

By arrangement with the Independent Television Authority, the allocation originally offered to A.B.D.C now applies to the new company.

It covers commercial television programmes from the London station at weekends and from Birmingham from Mondays to Fridays. it is expected that two Midland newspaper groups, The Birmingham Gazette and The Birmingham Post and Mail, will be associated with the new company.

A statement issued last night added that the Incorporated Television Programme Company [ITC] would continue their separate existence as producers and organizers of television productions and their programmes would be available to other TV organisations.
